The Somali National Army has graduated approximately 3,000 recruits following an extensive training program at the Xananbuure camp in Galgadud. The event represents one of the largest military training achievements in Somalia in decades. Recruits from different federal member states completed nearly a year of instruction covering military discipline, tactics, weapons handling, and legal principles. The program was supported by Saudi Arabia and included instructors from Ukraine, Romania, and Sudan. The initiative forms part of Somalia’s ongoing effort to strengthen national security institutions and build a more capable military force. Developing trained personnel is considered an important step toward improving long-term stability and reducing dependence on external support. International partnerships continue to play a significant role in Somalia’s defense development, providing expertise and helping establish professional military standards.
