In a decisive move to enhance battlefield protection, the US Army has awarded MyDefence, a Denmark-based defense technology company, a $26 million contract for the delivery of wearable counter-drone systems. This milestone deal is part of a broader strategy to fortify troops against the rising threat of drones, especially in operational theaters where airspace is becoming increasingly vulnerable to UAS incursions.
The product at the center of this initiative, MyDefence’s Soldier-Kit, integrates two specialized devices—the “Wingman” drone detection system and the “Pitbull” electronic jammer—into a lightweight, wearable platform that weighs just 1.3 kg. Designed for ease of use and maximum operational flexibility, the kit can be discreetly mounted on a soldier’s gear, allowing personnel to maintain full combat mobility while actively monitoring and neutralizing hostile drones.
The US Army’s decision comes after successful testing during joint drills in Germany, organized by US European Command, where the system proved capable of operating effectively across dynamic and rugged environments. The deal not only reflects growing trust in European defense innovation but also reaffirms the importance of modular, scalable C-UAS solutions in the evolving landscape of modern warfare.
