Saudi Arabian Military Industries (SAMI), the state-owned defense company, has entered into a partnership with Amentum UK and International to strengthen its maintenance, repair, overhaul, and upgrade (MROU) services for land-based combat systems.

The collaboration will enhance SAMI’s land systems division, positioning it as the national leader in MROU operations. Through the introduction of advanced processes and best practices, the initiative is designed to meet rising domestic defense requirements.

In addition to boosting operational capabilities, the partnership is expected to generate employment opportunities, expand the local industrial base, and support knowledge transfer that will advance Saudi Arabia’s defense expertise.

This effort aligns with Vision 2030, Riyadh’s long-term strategy to localize more than 50 percent of military procurement by 2030. Current systems supported by SAMI include the Al-Faris 8-400, Al-Kaser, and Al-Mansour APCs, along with the Al-Masmak and Tuwaiq MRAPs and the Ashibl light armored vehicle family.
