Saab has chosen Anduril to supply solid rocket motors (SRMs) for the Ground-Launched Small Diameter Bomb (GLSDB), a precision strike system co-developed with Boeing. These new SRMs will take the place of the legacy M26 rockets, bringing upgraded safety and modernized manufacturing techniques to the GLSDB platform.
Anduril has already begun development and qualification of the system and plans to achieve full-rate production by 2026. To support this, the company is investing $75 million to expand its manufacturing site in McHenry, Mississippi, with the upgraded facility expected to become operational next month.
This facility expansion builds on a $14.3 million award under the Defense Production Act, aimed at implementing advanced automation processes that will accelerate production timelines and reduce costs. At the same time, Anduril successfully conducted a static test fire of a 21-inch hypersonic rocket motor intended for the U.S. Navy’s Standard Missile program.initiative.
