BAE Systems has delivered the first three BvS10 armored all-terrain vehicles to Sweden, Germany, and the United Kingdom as part of a joint acquisition program. The initial deliveries mark the beginning of a larger framework agreement that includes a total of 423 vehicles scheduled for completion by 2028.
Under the agreement, Sweden will receive 223 BvS10s, the UK will acquire 60, and Germany is set to receive 140. In addition, Germany has expanded its requirement with a follow-up order of 227 more vehicles. These units represent the newest generation of the BvS10, engineered to provide unmatched mobility across difficult terrains such as snow, ice, deserts, swamps, rocky landscapes, and steep mountainous regions.
One of the vehicle’s notable features is its amphibious capability, enabling operations in coastal waters and flooded environments. This flexibility ensures that troops, equipment, and supplies can be transported effectively under diverse and challenging battlefield conditions. The tracked articulated design also supports multiple mission configurations, including personnel transport, command and control, medical evacuation, recovery, logistics, situational awareness, and mortar-equipped weapons carriers.
The BvS10’s versatility has already made it a core platform for several European militaries. In 2024, Sweden announced plans to integrate Saab’s Mobile Short-Range Air Defence system onto the vehicle, further enhancing its mission value. Currently, the BvS10 is already fielded by Austria, France, the Netherlands, Sweden, and the UK, underlining its growing presence across NATO and allied forces.
