The US Army has awarded BAE Systems a contract to develop the Multi-Domain Artillery Cannon (MDAC), a system designed to fire hypersonic rounds. Announced in late 2024, the sole-source deal bypassed competitive bidding. The MDAC setup will feature eight cannons, four advanced radar systems, and two multi-domain battle management centers.
