Bulgaria is evaluating the Caesar 155mm self-propelled howitzer from France as a potential replacement for its Soviet-made 122mm 2S1 “Gvozdika” artillery. The Caesar is one of two options under review as part of the EU’s EDIRPA program, which supports joint military procurement among member states with partial financial reimbursements.
