Texas-based Allen Control Systems (ACS) has secured a contract with defense firm ManTech to integrate its advanced Bullfrog autonomous weapon system onto maritime platforms. This significant contract positions Bullfrog in direct support of the US Special Operations Forces (SOF) conducting missions at sea, marking an important expansion from the system’s traditional land-based deployments.
Bullfrog uses cutting-edge artificial intelligence, computer vision, and proprietary control software to revolutionize legacy and modern weapons by transforming them into precision strike tools. The system enables autonomous targeting and engagement, enhancing accuracy and reducing operator workload, providing a force multiplier for critical maritime operations.
Designed for flexibility, the Bullfrog system pairs with standard weapons such as the M240 machine gun, offering rapid response against threats including unmanned aerial systems. Its deployment on maritime platforms reflects the increasing importance of autonomous capabilities in complex, high-risk environments where Special Operations Forces operate.
Mike Wior, co-founder and CEO of Allen Control Systems, highlighted the strategic value of the system for maritime SOF units operating in challenging theaters. The combination of lightweight, low power consumption, and advanced AI makes Bullfrog a pivotal asset for the future battlefield, particularly in countering drone threats across all domains.
