EM&E Group and Indra Group, together with Belgium-based Intersoft Electronics Services, have formed a partnership to promote counter-unmanned aerial system (C-UAS) solutions in the Belgium defense market.

The collaboration was announced at the Brussels European Defense Exhibition & Conference. Under the agreement, EM&E Group will provide electro-optical sensors and remotely operated weapon stations, Indra will deliver radar systems and command-and-control infrastructure, and Intersoft Electronics Services will oversee integration and support commercialization within Belgium.

The joint solution is expected to offer detection, identification, tracking, and neutralization capabilities for drones across a range of operational environments. The companies emphasized that the initiative strengthens European defense autonomy by utilizing EU-developed technologies, reducing dependency on non-European suppliers, and enhancing airspace protection against growing drone threats.

This announcement comes amid wider European efforts to reinforce counter-drone defenses, particularly along the bloc’s eastern borders. In February, Poland awarded a $1.65-billion contract to Kongsberg Defence & Aerospace and Polska Grupa Zbrojeniowa for 18 C-UAS batteries centered on Kongsberg’s Protector remote weapon station.

Previously, Spain deployed its Crow C-UAS system to Lithuania, stationed at Šiauliai Air Base, supporting drone detection and neutralization under NATO’s 70th Air Policing Mission.
