The Czech Republic has chosen US-based Gentex Corporation to provide advanced ballistic helmets and communication headsets as part of a large-scale modernization of its military gear. The contract, valued at more than 1 billion Czech korunas ($47.8 million), was secured through the NATO Support and Procurement Agency (NSPA), which facilitates collaborative defense acquisitions among allied nations.

Under the agreement, Gentex will supply its renowned Ops-Core lightweight ballistic helmets, along with a complete range of tactical accessories. These include AMP communication headsets, push-to-talk radios, ballistic visors, face shields, jaw guards, and Special Operations Tactical Respirators (SOTRs) equipped with integrated microphones. The full suite is designed to deliver enhanced situational awareness, communication clarity, and personal protection for soldiers operating in high-risk environments.

The system forms an integrated protection and communication solution aimed at improving coordination and survivability in combat and field missions. According to Gentex, the equipment will ensure optimal comfort, durability, and interoperability, aligning with NATO operational standards.

Throughout the program, the NSPA will coordinate the production and delivery schedule in close partnership with the Czech Ministry of Defence, while Gentex will oversee training, fitting, and long-term maintenance. Deliveries of the complete protective system are scheduled to conclude by October 2026, equipping Czech troops with state-of-the-art battlefield gear.
