The Czech Ministry of Defense has selected Exail’s Advans Series Inertial Navigation System (INS) to power the country’s artillery command and reconnaissance vehicles, enhancing their spatial accuracy and battlefield resilience. Based on fiber-optic gyroscope (FOG) technology, the system ensures robust orientation and location tracking even when satellite signals (GNSS) are degraded or entirely unavailable—situations common in modern electronic warfare environments.
Military planning officials cited the need to maintain positional certainty in hostile, GPS-denied zones, which the Advans system addresses through internal sensors and processing algorithms. Its integration is set to provide Czech forces with substantial gains in targeting reliability, route planning, and combat survivability during contested operations. In particular, the navigation suite will facilitate seamless C4ISR (Command, Control, Communications, Computers, Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance) integration in multinational missions.
