Daimler Truck has entered a strategic collaboration with ARX Robotics to revolutionize military land vehicles by embedding artificial intelligence and robotic systems into its specialized platforms. The initiative centers on upgrading Mercedes-Benz’s Unimog and Zetros tactical vehicles with ARX’s Mithra OS, a combat-grade operating system that drives automation and network enablement.

The joint effort will extend into a testing phase aimed at validating core capabilities such as teleoperation (remote control), autonomy, and interoperability between fleet elements under battlefield conditions. ARX Robotics emphasized that this innovation is not optional—modern land forces must adopt software-driven systems to maintain relevance within NATO’s evolving operational structures. The project’s long-term goal is to transition traditional utility vehicles into intelligent, adaptive platforms that can function in both manned and unmanned scenarios.
