A consortium of technology and defense firms is advancing the UAE’s military logistics modernization with the launch of a new Autonomous Logistics Platform (ALP). The initiative is designed to transform how materials are transported and managed across defense manufacturing and operational environments, reducing reliance on manual processes while improving efficiency and safety.

The program is led by EDGE Group, in partnership with Abu Dhabi-based Technology Innovation Institute (TII), autonomous mobility specialist Micropolis, and AI firm SteerAI. Together, the partners aim to integrate purpose-built unmanned ground vehicles (UGVs) with artificial intelligence to enable fully automated material movement both within facilities and between geographically separated sites.

At the core of the ALP is a digital architecture that combines fleet management, autonomous navigation, and advanced safety systems. The platform also leverages digital twin technology to simulate logistics operations in real time, enhancing situational awareness and enabling predictive decision-making. This approach allows operators to optimize workflows while minimizing downtime and operational risk.

In addition, the system incorporates advanced analytics and operational optimization tools, providing actionable insights across the logistics chain. The Autonomous Logistics Platform aligns with the UAE’s broader strategy to deploy AI-driven defense solutions, strengthening supply chain resilience and supporting next-generation military production capabilities.
