During Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky’s visit, German Chancellor Friedrich Merz announced that Germany will collaborate with Ukraine on developing long-range weaponry capable of targeting locations deep within Russian territory. The defense ministers of both nations signed a memorandum of understanding to begin joint production of these systems. While technical details and industrial partners were not revealed, Merz highlighted that the weapons would not have range restrictions, enabling Ukraine to counter threats from a distance.
