Germany has expressed preliminary interest in acquiring the Piorun man-portable air defense system developed by Polska Grupa Zbrojeniowa. The Piorun, introduced in 2019, is designed to engage low-flying aircraft, helicopters, and drones at ranges up to 6.5 kilometers. It has been combat-tested in Ukraine and exported to multiple NATO-aligned countries. Polish officials indicated that some units may support Germany’s armed forces, while others are destined for Ukraine.
