India is accelerating its indigenous defense capabilities through a collaboration between National Aerospace Laboratories and Solar Defence & Aerospace Limited. The project focuses on developing a 150-kg class loitering munition UAV designed for deep-strike missions. Expected to undergo prototype testing by 2028, the system will feature a 900 km range and 6–9 hours endurance. Equipped with a 15-kg warhead, the UAV will target high-value assets such as radar stations and command centers. It incorporates a Wankel rotary engine, low radar cross-section design, and AI-based navigation capable of operating in GPS-denied environments.
