Indra has acquired a large-scale manufacturing facility in Asturias, northern Spain, to expand its tactical vehicle production for European defense initiatives. The site was purchased from Duro Felguera, and the deal includes over 150 skilled workers who will now join Indra’s team.

The Gijón-based facility spans 75,000 square meters, with 23,000 square meters of it covered for production. Indra plans to modernize the site for assembling a range of tracked and wheeled military vehicles, including next-generation tactical platforms.

To support the transition, training programs will be launched for the workforce, alongside investments in upgraded equipment, machinery, and infrastructure improvements. The company is positioning the region as the core hub for land systems production.

This move strengthens Indra’s standing in both the Spanish and European defense sectors, aligning with its involvement in programs like FAMOUS, MARTE, and the Dragon 8×8 vehicle through TESS Defence, enhancing operational autonomy and technological leadership.
