Lewis Machine & Tool (LMT) Defense has landed a contract to supply the Swiss Armed Forces with Sturmgewehr 25 assault rifles. The firearms are based on LMT’s MARS-L (Modular Ambidextrous Rifle System – Light) and are chambered for 5.56×45mm ammunition. Featuring a gas piston system, the rifles will be delivered in both 12-inch and 16-inch barrel configurations, according to reports from a German news agency.
