The Israeli Ministry of Defence has signed a $48 million agreement with Elbit Systems to produce tens of thousands of 155mm artillery shells domestically. This move is part of a broader strategy to reduce reliance on foreign suppliers and strengthen internal manufacturing capabilities. Production is being carried out across multiple facilities with continuous operations to meet demand. The initiative also aims to replenish stockpiles depleted during recent conflicts while preparing for future operational needs. Additionally, the establishment of a new raw materials facility will support the production of critical inputs, ensuring long-term sustainability and greater independence for Israel’s defense industry.
