For the first time, Israel has used a high-powered laser weapon in live combat to intercept a kamikaze drone launched by Hezbollah from Lebanon. Developed by Rafael Advanced Defense Systems, the system successfully locked onto and neutralized a fast-moving drone within seconds, as shown in footage released by the firm. The intercepted UAV resembled Iranian-manufactured Ababil-T drones, frequently used by Hezbollah. Rafael Chairman Dr. Yuval Steinitz emphasized that Israel is the first country to operationalize high-energy laser technology and use it effectively in real combat scenarios.
