Iveco Defence Vehicles (IDV) has secured an expanded order from the Italian Army to supply 658 additional tactical logistics trucks, bringing the total number of vehicles under procurement to 2,111 units. This new order builds on the major contract signed in December 2024 for 1,453 trucks, extending the delivery schedule all the way to 2039, signaling Italy’s long-term commitment to fleet modernization.

According to IDV, the new batch of trucks will be manufactured using the company’s latest-generation military truck architecture, ensuring improved durability, performance, and operational versatility. The platforms will be supplied in a variety of mission-specific configurations, including troop and cargo transport, fuel and water tankers, container carriers, recovery vehicles, and towing systems, supporting a full spectrum of logistic requirements.

The agreement also includes a comprehensive package of technical assistance, sustainment solutions, and long-term support services aimed at maximizing vehicle availability throughout the program’s lifecycle. IDV emphasized that these services are crucial for maintaining high readiness levels, especially for missions that demand continuous logistical support.

Once delivered, the new fleet will progressively replace the Italian Army’s aging logistics vehicles, many of which have been in service for decades. Standardizing the fleet with modern, multi-role trucks is expected to significantly enhance operational efficiency and improve logistical performance across routine duties, crisis response operations, and high-intensity mission scenarios.
