KNDS France has been tasked with producing 269 armored vehicles for Belgium and Luxembourg under the ongoing Capacité Motorisée (CaMo) initiative.
The CaMo program, jointly managed by Paris and Brussels, is designed to promote equipment commonality and interoperability while reinforcing France’s SCORPION ground-force modernization strategy.
Vehicles for Belgium
Belgium will receive 92 Griffon armored personnel carriers and 123 Serval multirole armored vehicles, ordered through France’s defense procurement agency on behalf of the Belgian Ministry of Defence.
Integration into the SCORPION ecosystem will grant Belgium access to shared digital architectures and operational concepts, enhancing its capacity to conduct coordinated NATO operations.
Vehicles for Luxembourg
Luxembourg’s procurement, conducted within Belgium’s CaMo framework and aligned with NATO planning processes, includes 16 Griffons and 38 Jaguar reconnaissance vehicles.
These platforms will be assigned to the future Guide-Chasseurs Battalion, a bilateral Belgian-Luxembourg unit expected to reach full operational readiness by 2030.
Production and Support
KNDS confirmed that manufacturing will involve Arquus and Thales for the Griffon and Jaguar, while Texelis will support Serval production.
Most vehicles will be assembled in Belgium at MOL CY’s Staden site and fitted with FN Herstal remote weapon stations. The Serval program will feature expanded Belgian industrial participation. The deliveries will be supported by spare parts and maintenance services to ensure sustained availability.
