Lockheed Martin has secured a $245 million contract extension from the US Naval Sea Systems Command for its MK 48 Guidance and Control (G&C) initiative.
This enhancement will upgrade the Mod 7 version of the MK 48 submarine-launched torpedo.
The improvements will aid the US Navy and allied forces, such as Australia, under foreign sales arrangements, with completion slated for September 2027.
