The Maldives National Defence Force (MNDF) has formally introduced its new Ajban 442A light armored vehicles, produced by Abu Dhabi’s EDGE Group subsidiary NIMR Automotive, at the nation’s 133rd military anniversary parade in Malé. Designed for critical command, observation, and secure communications on diverse island terrains, these vehicles are a result of burgeoning defense collaboration between the UAE and the Maldives.
Ajban vehicles have been configured specifically for the needs of Maldivian forces, focusing on speed, mobility, and operational versatility essential for coastal and island defense. Their deployment signals a modernization leap for the MNDF, ensuring that troops can safely control, monitor, and coordinate missions across the archipelago.
EDGE Group emphasized its ongoing partnership by delivering these mission-ready platforms, reaffirming the UAE’s commitment to building capacity within South Asia through tailored technological solutions.
