Norway has placed an order with Bertel O. Steen Defence & Security to supply cutting-edge sniper scopes as part of a military modernization effort. The deal includes the Thermis Mk2 thermal sight system, a sophisticated tool that offers visibility in both day and night conditions, improving targeting accuracy in complex environments.
The scopes will be fitted on newly purchased M107A1 12.7mm anti-materiel rifles from Barrett Firearms, under a contract inked in 2024. Production of the thermal sights will be handled by Theon International, based in Greece. The systems are expected to be delivered to the Norwegian distributor in September 2025 and integrated shortly after for active deployment.
