The United States’ Raytheon has formalized a strategic partnership with the United Arab Emirates’ Tawazun Council, the nation’s defense and security acquisitions authority, to produce the Coyote counter-drone system within the UAE. This agreement highlights a significant transfer of technology, with Raytheon Emirates collaborating directly with Emirati defense companies to assemble and test crucial components in Tawazun Industrial Park.
Through this arrangement, the UAE will be empowered to accelerate the deployment of advanced counter-drone munitions by relying on locally established production lines. Fast-tracked manufacturing not only enhances operational responsiveness but also addresses the need for adaptable and timely solutions as threats evolve. The landmark deal also provides for increased knowledge sharing, local workforce skill-building, and new opportunities in the Emirati defense sector.
