German defense giant Rheinmetall and Poland’s state-owned arms conglomerate Polska Grupa Zbrojeniowa (PGZ) have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to jointly produce a new generation of military support vehicles for the Polish Armed Forces. The collaboration reflects the growing defense ties between Berlin and Warsaw, aimed at strengthening Europe’s land-based operational capabilities.
Under the agreement, the companies plan to establish a joint venture named the European Support Vehicles Center, which will focus on the design and production of specialized armored systems. The facility will manufacture a range of battlefield support platforms, including armored recovery vehicles, mine-clearing vehicles, and bridge-laying systems, tailored to the operational needs of Poland’s military.
Rheinmetall, recognized for its advanced armored vehicle portfolio such as the Keiler NG mine-clearing vehicle, already maintains a strong presence in Poland through its subsidiary in Warsaw. Meanwhile, PGZ, which manages Poland’s vast network of state-owned defense firms, continues to play a central role in modernizing the nation’s defense industry and expanding its cooperation with key European partners.
