Germany’s defense procurement agency has granted Rheinmetall a follow-on framework contract worth up to 3.1 billion euros ($3.2 billion) to supply advanced soldier systems. The agreement includes the production and delivery of as many as 368 “Infantry Soldier of the Future – Enhanced System” (IdZ-ES) platoon kits by 2030. Each kit includes 34 soldier units and supporting gear, such as IT systems, optics, night vision tools, protective clothing, and load-bearing equipment—marking the largest soldier-system order in German military history.
