Rolls-Royce Solutions America has secured a $73.5-million contract to deliver power-pack kits to support Israel’s Merkava main battle tank fleet. The agreement, funded through foreign military sales, focuses on sustaining high operational availability and improving lifecycle maintenance efficiency. The power-pack system integrates the engine, cooling, filtration, and electronic components into a single modular unit, enabling rapid replacement at the field level. This approach significantly reduces vehicle downtime and supports both depot-level refurbishment and frontline maintenance, ensuring armored units remain combat-ready across extended operational deployments.
