Swedish defense manufacturer Saab has officially introduced the Nimbrix missile, its first dedicated counter-unmanned aerial system designed to confront the growing danger posed by small battlefield drones. The system represents Saab’s latest step in strengthening layered air defense against low-cost aerial threats.

The missile employs a fire-and-forget guidance method, equipped with a compact frame that allows for rapid deployment. An active seeker enables precise target acquisition and tracking, while its hard-kill warhead delivers air-burst detonations to neutralize hostile drones, including swarms operating simultaneously.

Engineered for adaptability, Nimbrix features a modular structure that supports installation on tactical vehicles, fixed defense sites, or within integrated air defense networks. This ensures it can be seamlessly aligned with broader defense strategies across different operational environments.

In addition to its integration capability, Nimbrix can operate as a standalone system through a ground-based launcher, giving armed forces the flexibility to tailor its use according to mission demands. Saab positions the system as a reliable response to the increasing proliferation of drone-based warfare.
