Leidos has unveiled the Sea Dart, a modular, uncrewed underwater vehicle (UUV) designed to disrupt the market with significantly reduced costs—advertised at “up to 80 to 90 percent less” than comparable systems, with a starting price around $150,000 per unit. Sea Dart’s configuration is highly flexible, supporting multiple payloads and missions ranging from surveillance to environmental monitoring.

Its affordability and adaptability aim to make large-scale undersea deployments feasible for a wide array of military and commercial users, challenging the prevailing norms of underwater robotics acquisitions.
