Slovakia has signed a framework agreement to supply Azerbaijan with 96 SAM-120 self-propelled mortar systems, with options for up to 300 units. Valued at 210 million euros, the deal was concluded between ZŤS Špeciál and Azerbaijan’s Iglin Scientific Production Enterprise. The fully automated 120mm system features a 35-round magazine, 8-kilometer range, 20 rounds-per-minute firing rate, and 360-degree turret rotation. Operated by a crew of two to four personnel, production will begin immediately. Discussions may include licensing and potential local manufacturing in Azerbaijan.
