The Swedish Defence Materiel Administration (FMV) and Finland’s Millog Oy have signed a new agreement for the maintenance of armoured vehicles. This contract is designed to strengthen Swedish-Finnish defence cooperation and secure technical support for platforms like the Patria XA 202 armoured all-terrain vehicle.

FMV, which procures and manages defence equipment for the Swedish Armed Forces, will now benefit from Millog’s specialised expertise in vehicle maintenance and support. The agreement also allows the Swedish Armed Forces to access Finland’s maintenance network during military exercises and operations beyond Swedish borders.

“We are pleased to deepen this collaboration, which enhances our shared defence capabilities. Through this agreement, Millog can support FMV and the Swedish Armed Forces with services from Finland, in Sweden, and wherever assistance is needed,” said Toni Piispa, Director of Millog Oy’s Authorities and Industry Business Unit.

As security dynamics in Northern Europe evolve, the need for improved mobility and stronger cross-border cooperation is increasing. Patria’s armoured vehicles are highly suited to covering vast areas, which is vital for effective operations across the Nordic and Baltic regions. The agreement not only enhances Sweden’s access to regional maintenance and logistics support but also opens opportunities for future subsystem development.

The contract took effect in spring 2025 and forms part of FMV’s long-term strategy to maintain and develop essential defence assets in close partnership with Nordic allies.
