Textron Systems has entered a prototype agreement with the US Army to supply its Damocles loitering munition under the Low Altitude Stalking and Strike Ordnance program. The system will undergo operational demonstrations and evaluation, showcasing its vertical take-off and landing design, modular payload architecture, and autonomous strike capability. Damocles integrates advanced explosively formed penetrator warheads and top-attack profiles while eliminating the need for external launch or recovery equipment. Its modular open-systems design allows rapid mission reconfiguration for strike, electronic warfare, or intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance roles, offering operational flexibility in contested and GPS-denied environments.
