Thales has introduced STORM 2, a lightweight soldier-worn counter-drone system designed to protect troops from unmanned aerial threats. Weighing less than two kilograms, the system allows soldiers to carry the device easily while maintaining operational mobility. Originally developed as protection against improvised explosive devices, the technology has evolved into a localized drone-defense system capable of jamming frequencies between 20 megahertz and 6 gigahertz. The platform functions as a cyber and electromagnetic activities node that disrupts drone communication links.
