Thales has introduced a next-generation panoramic night vision goggle (NVG), providing soldiers with a significantly expanded peripheral view without necessitating frequent head movement. Displayed during a special operations technology event in France, the goggle employs four light-intensification tubes to create a broader field of vision.

Weighing just 740 grams (1.6 pounds) and narrow enough to mount directly onto helmets, this ergonomic device enhances user comfort in dynamic operations. It is built specifically for critical missions such as counterterrorism, urban assaults, and stealth extractions, where spatial recognition is paramount.

This innovation is part of an ongoing effort by European defense firms to augment night-fighting survivability without sacrificing agility or mission effectiveness, particularly for elite dismounted units
