Turkey has unveiled the ALKA-KAPLAN, a next-generation hybrid combat vehicle designed specifically for counter-drone operations using high-energy laser technology. Developed through a collaboration between defense firms FNSS and ROKETSAN, the new platform integrates the mobility of the KAPLAN HYBRID tracked vehicle with the advanced capabilities of the ALKA Directed Energy Weapon System.
This innovative fusion creates a stealthy, hybrid-powered anti-drone solution capable of detecting, jamming, and destroying unmanned aerial threats on the battlefield. The vehicle is further outfitted with a suite of payloads, including advanced cameras, mission modules, and a navigation system enhanced by visual recognition, enabling both remote control and autonomous functionality.
By combining electric drive technology with directed-energy warfare capabilities, the ALKA-KAPLAN offers a unique solution for modern battlefield environments where drone threats are becoming increasingly common.
