Ukraine has signed a memorandum of understanding with European defense firm KNDS to jointly manufacture medium-caliber ammunition for its military. The shells are designed for automatic guns that target infantry, lightly armored vehicles, and low-altitude aircraft. The initiative will be carried out by Ukraine’s state-owned Ukroboronprom and KNDS’s Belgian branch. Ukroboronprom head Oleh Hulyak said the deal boosts Ukraine’s global defense partnerships and aligns with its aspirations to join NATO’s defense industrial base.
