Ukrainian armored-vehicle producer Praktika has signed a memorandum of understanding with Spain’s Tecnove and Escribano Mechanical & Engineering to cooperatively manufacture armored vehicles in Spain. The deal marks a strategic push to strengthen defense-industrial ties between Ukraine and the European Union amid heightened regional security demands.

The collaboration will cover a wide spectrum of platforms, including multi-purpose armored vehicles, fire-support variants, and specialized systems such as ambulances, electronic-warfare vehicles, command-and-staff models, and non-militarized armored units for demining and explosive transport. This initiative represents the first co-production effort between Praktika, the League of Defense Enterprises of Ukraine—an umbrella group representing more than 75 private firms—and Spanish defense manufacturers on EU territory.

Under the agreement, the companies will integrate their technical expertise in military automotive engineering to jointly design, produce, and assemble armored vehicles aimed at the EU market, Ukraine’s defense forces, and other partner nations. Production will take place at Tecnove’s newly developed 25,000-square-meter facility in Herencia, located in Spain’s Madrid region, which is dedicated to defense and security manufacturing.

Large-unit assembly will be conducted in Spain using components supplied from Praktika’s factories in Ukraine, ensuring that critical Ukrainian know-how and combat-proven technologies remain central to the process. Finished vehicles will support Spain’s operational needs and bolster Ukraine’s industrial resilience. The project enhances Ukraine’s integration into European defense supply chains, expands serial armored-vehicle production, and reinforces the growing role of Ukrainian private industry within EU and NATO standards.
