India Advances Tri-Service Logistics Integration for Future Theatre Commands — India is progressing towards an integrated defence logistics framework intended to improve coordination among the Army, Navy and Air Force. Led by the Department of Military Affairs, the initiative draws on relevant practices from the US Defence Logistics Agency model. Planned reforms include a Tri-Services Logistics Management Application for real-time inventory visibility, standardised defence codification and additional joint logistics infrastructure. Specialised committees and working groups are coordinating common procedures across the services. The proposed framework also aims to integrate existing enterprise resource planning systems and improve access to fuel, spare parts, ammunition and maintenance resources. Artificial intelligence and predictive maintenance tools are expected to strengthen logistics planning and support the operational requirements of India’s planned theatre commands.
