Turkey has provided helicopter assets to Somalia’s military, advancing a comprehensive defense cooperation deal between the two nations.

The delivery included three T129 attack helicopters for the air force and two multi-role utility helicopters designated for naval operations. The aircraft arrived via Turkish and Qatari military transport planes.

This move coincides with the completion of pilot training by Turkey and comes amid efforts to combat threats from Al-Shabaab militants and secure Somalia’s maritime territory.
