Australian defense company Electro Optic Systems (EOS) has been awarded a contract worth 71.4 million euros ($83 million) to produce and deliver a high-powered laser-based counter-drone system.

The order comes from an undisclosed European NATO member seeking a 100-kilowatt class system. Deliveries are scheduled to take place between 2025 and 2028, marking a significant step in advancing NATO’s counter-unmanned aerial systems capabilities.

Under the agreement, EOS will also provide spare parts, comprehensive training, and full documentation to support system operation. Production and shipment will be handled from EOS’s laser innovation center in Singapore, ensuring timely and specialized delivery.

This deal reflects the growing global demand for advanced counter-drone technology, particularly within NATO forces facing evolving aerial threats.
