Azerbaijan has expanded its order of JF-17 Thunder fighter jets from Pakistan from 16 to 40 aircraft.
This update builds upon a previous contract signed in 2024 to reinforce air superiority amid ongoing conflict risks.
The total value of the deal now stands at $4.6 billion, securing Azerbaijan’s position as the leading foreign JF-17 operator.
The new order also includes the Block III version, which features cutting-edge radar and onboard systems.
Pakistan began handing over the fighters in September 2024, and they quickly entered active service.
