BAE Systems will upgrade the US Navy’s AN/APX-123A(V) IFF system under a newly awarded $30 million contract.
The upgrade covers deployment on drones, surface vessels, helicopters, and fixed-wing aircraft.
It will support critical command functions, including friend-or-foe detection, defense systems, and air traffic operations.
The modernization effort is being carried out at BAE’s Texas and New York locations, wrapping up in 2027.
