The US Air Force has awarded BAE Systems a contract to modernize the electronic warfare suite of the U-2 Dragon Lady. The upgrade includes enhancements to the AN/ALQ-221 system, improving situational awareness and survivability in contested environments. Originally developed during the Cold War, the U-2 remains a critical intelligence platform capable of operating above 70,000 feet with advanced surveillance capabilities.
