Bell Textron has successfully completed the first phase of its SPINE (Structural and Power Improvements for NextGen Effects) upgrade program for the AH-1Z Viper and UH-1Y Venom helicopters. This initiative enhances structural durability and electrical systems to improve mission effectiveness against evolving threats. The upgraded helicopters are currently undergoing evaluation at Naval Air Station Patuxent River after 19 months of extensive work, including drivetrain improvements and fuselage modifications.
