The US Department of Defense has awarded Boeing a $38.7 million contract to upgrade mission systems for South Korea’s P-8A Poseidon fleet. The upgrade introduces TOMS 105K software, enhancing system performance, addressing component shortages, and enabling advanced submarine detection through multi-static active coherent processing. Integration of the Harpoon II missile further strengthens strike capabilities.
