The Chinese Navy has launched the “Sichuan,” its first Type 076-class amphibious assault ship. With a displacement exceeding 40,000 tons, dual island superstructure, and a full-length flight deck, it is China’s largest warship to date. Equipped with electromagnetic catapults and arrestor gear, the vessel can operate both helicopters and fixed-wing fighter aircraft. Sea trials and tests will follow its formal launch.
