China has unveiled the KJ-3000, a new Airborne Early Warning and Control (AEW&C) aircraft built to boost the country’s aerial surveillance capabilities. Developed on the Y-20 strategic airlift platform, the KJ-3000 is powered by four engines and incorporates dual rotating active electronically scanned array (AESA) radars, offering extensive situational awareness. Chinese media suggest the platform will enhance the PLA’s monitoring and detection efforts, particularly in the South China Sea and western Pacific regions.
