On December 3, 2024, Brazilian aerospace firm Embraer entered a partnership with the Brazilian Air Force (FAB) to explore enhancements to its C-390 Millennium military transport aircraft. Signed during the Mostra BID defense and security fair in Brasilia, the agreement focuses on developing a new version of the aircraft optimized for intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance (ISR) operations, particularly maritime patrol. The proposed variant, designated C-390 IVR, will incorporate features such as the ability to launch anti-ship missiles, as depicted in a computer-generated model released by Embraer.
